What is the KHS S.N.I.P. Clinic?

The most critical issue facing pets in Louisville and surrounding counties today is finding enough permanent, loving homes for them all. Through adoptions, education programs and spay/neuter efforts, the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) is offering proactive solutions to this pet overpopulation crisis, but there's so much more to be done.

As part of this strategy, the new, full-time KHS "S.N.I.P. Clinic " is dedicated entirely to spay/neuter efforts.

As the region's first clinic of its kind, the S.N.I.P. Clinic's high-quality, high-volume approach is a milestone, as the area's first program large enough to successfully combat pet overpopulation by having the singular focus of providing affordable spay/neuter surgeries.

How does the Transport Partner Program Work?

HOPE for Pets, as a Regional Transport Partner for the Kentucky Humane Society, will help provide affordable spay/neuter surgeries for low-income individuals and will assist in the scheduling and transport of your pets.  On the 4th Monday of each month HOPE for Pets will meet scheduled clients at the Frank E Simon Park for transport of their dogs and/or cats to the S.N.I.P. Clinic.  The pets will have surgery that day, spend the night then be returned to the same location for pickup by their owners.  Owners drop their pets off between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. and pick them up at 8:00 a.m. the next day.

All owners must show proof of rabies for each pet.  If proof of rabies is not available, your pet will receive a rabies shot required by state law and the owners will be charged accordingly.  You will also have the option of your pet receiving additional vaccinations at the prices listed below.

This transport is FREE of charge.  If you want to have your pet spayed or neutered and would like to use our transport program, email spayneuter@hopeforpets.org or call (502) 955-3586.  A volunteer will return your call within 24 hours.
