LOW COST   SPAY AND NEUTER COMES TO BULLITT COUNTY!

There are a lot of homeless animals in Bullitt County and the shelter is always full.  There just aren't enough homes for them all!  The sad part? There never will be!  We must come together as a community and stop the pet overpopulation we are faced with today.

There are numerous benefits for your pet in having them spayed and/or neutered.

HOPE for Pets, through a partnership with the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS), is offering a proactive solution to the pet overpopulation crisis in Bullitt County.

The new KHS “S.N.I.P. Clinic” opened February 5, 2007.  The facility, located at 2445 Crittenden Drive, is dedicated entirely to spay/neuter efforts for members of the community who otherwise could not afford to sterilize their pets. HOPE for Pets, as a Regional Transport Partner for the Kentucky Humane Society,  helps provide affordable spay/neuter surgeries and will assist in the scheduling and transport of owned pets.  HOPE for Pets provides this service on the fourth Thursday of each month.  County licenses are also available to purchase.

To find out more about our Regional Transport Partnership Program and the S.N.I.P. Program, click here.

To insure safe transport of the pets, we are in need of  the hard plastic "airline" style carriers.  If you would like to donate a carrier or the money to purchase one,  please email or call us at the number listed below.  All donations are appreciated!

For questions, to see if you qualify or to schedule an appointment,  call (502) 955-3586 or email SpayNeuter@hopeforpets.org.  A volunteer will return your call within 24 hours.

Why spay and neuter your pets?  The Kentucky Humane Society says it best, they’re just not going to do it themselves.

HOPE Spay/Neuter Clinic - In September, 2009, HOPE for Pets started our own Spay/Neuter Clinic for cats.  The Clinic is once a month. Surgery for dogs will be added sometime in the near future. For additional information or to schedule your pet for surgery, call (502) 955-3586.

Trap, Neuter, Release - HOPE for Pets is in the process of implementing a Trap, Neuter and Release Program.  With this program, feral cats are humanely trapped and taken to our clinic to be spayed or neutered.  Once the cat has recovered from surgery, he/she will be released in the same area where trapped.  If you are interested in helping with this program, please call (502) 955-3586.
